Last updated: September 2026

1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to all Starlink installation services provided by Alltec Ltd ("Alltec", "we", "our", "us") to customers across New Zealand who have purchased Starlink equipment and/or subscription services directly from Starlink.

By submitting a booking or confirming an installation appointment with Alltec, you ("Customer", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Relationship with Starlink

Alltec Ltd is an Authorized Starlink Installer in New Zealand. The installation service is provided by Alltec, not Starlink.

  • —Starlink is solely responsible for supplying all hardware (dish, router, mounts, and cabling) and the internet subscription.
  • —Alltec is responsible for the physical installation of your Starlink equipment at your nominated property.
  • —Starlink hardware is covered by Starlink's Limited Warranty, which is passed through to you as provided by Starlink. Alltec makes no separate warranty on Starlink hardware.
  • —Alltec warrants the quality of its installation workmanship (see the Warranty section below).
  • —All issues relating to your Starlink product or connectivity must be directed to Starlink Support.

3. Scope of Installation

A standard installation includes:

  • —Mounting the Starlink dish to a suitable structure (roof, wall, or ground mount as appropriate).
  • —Connection of Starlink-supplied cabling and router.
  • —Basic alignment and verification of connectivity.

Not included in standard installation:

  • —High-access or complex installations requiring height safety equipment or elevated work platforms.
  • —Trenching, conduit runs, or cable routing beyond the Starlink-supplied cable length.
  • —Custom or non-standard mounting solutions.
  • —Any electrical works beyond plugging in Starlink equipment.
  • —Wi-Fi extension, network configuration, or range boosting beyond the Starlink router.

If additional work is identified on-site, a quote will be provided before proceeding. You may accept or decline any extras.

4. Booking & Scheduling

Submitting a booking request does not guarantee a confirmed installation date. Your request will be reviewed and an Alltec-approved installer will contact you to confirm a suitable date and time.

Your preferred date is recorded as a guide only. If your preferred date is unavailable, the assigned installer will work with you to find a suitable alternative.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand circumstances change. You may cancel or reschedule your installation at any time at no charge — no cancellation, call-out, or rescheduling fees apply.

Cancellation or reschedule at any timeNo charge — no cancellation, call-out, or rescheduling fees.
Customer not home or site inaccessible on the dayNo call-out fee; we will work with you to rebook at no cost.

If Alltec must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather, technician unavailability), your appointment will be rescheduled at no cost to you.

6. Materials & Equipment

All Starlink-branded equipment (dish, router, mounts, and cabling) remains the responsibility of Starlink and is covered by Starlink's Limited Warranty.

Alltec does not sell mounts, cabling, or accessories to Starlink customers. Where a job requires a third-party or non-Starlink mount or cabling to complete the installation:

  • —Those materials form part of the installation service and are not itemised or sold separately to you.
  • —Alltec will notify Starlink of the mount make, model, or specification before or as it is used.
  • —Starlink-supplied products are not returnable through Alltec; contact Starlink Support for hardware returns.

7. Warranty & Liability

  • —Alltec warrants the quality of installation workmanship for 30 days from the date of completion.
  • —Starlink hardware (the kit) is covered by Starlink's Limited Warranty, which is passed through to you as provided by Starlink. Alltec makes no separate warranty on Starlink hardware.
  • —Product and connectivity issues must be directed to Starlink Support; install workmanship remains the responsibility of Alltec.
  • —Any damage to your property must be reported within 48 hours of installation completion for assessment.

Alltec's total liability is limited to the amount paid to Alltec for the installation service (whether by the customer or by Starlink on the customer's behalf), except where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other non-excludable law provides otherwise.

8. Customer Responsibilities

By booking an installation, you confirm that:

  • —You are the property owner or hold written permission from the property owner to install the Starlink system.
  • —You will provide safe, clear, and reasonable access to the installation area at the scheduled time.
  • —Starlink equipment and a suitable power outlet will be available and accessible on-site.
  • —Pets are secured and all access areas are clear for technicians to work safely.
  • —You have disclosed any known site hazards, access restrictions, or special conditions in advance.

9. Revisits & Incomplete Installations

If Alltec is unable to complete the installation due to:

  • —An unsuitable or inaccessible mounting location,
  • —Missing, damaged, or incomplete Starlink equipment on-site,
  • —Customer absence or site access being unavailable,

…we will work with you to rebook at no cost. No call-out, revisit, cancellation, or rescheduling fees apply.

10. Installer Damage, Public Liability & Insurance

Alltec Ltd is the installer of record for your Starlink installation. Alltec may use approved subcontractors to carry out the work, but remains responsible for the standard of that work and for any property damage caused during the installation. Alltec will coordinate with the installer who performed the work and their public liability insurance to assess and resolve the matter, acting as your point of contact throughout.

  • —Alltec and its subcontractors carry the public liability and other insurance required under Alltec's Authorized Installer Agreement with Starlink. Subcontractors also carry their own public liability insurance and indemnify Alltec for the work they perform.
  • —Customers are encouraged to document any pre-existing property conditions prior to installation commencement.
  • —Any damage must be reported to Alltec in writing within 48 hours of the installation being completed.

11. Indemnity (Customer)

The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold Alltec Ltd harmless from any claim, loss, or damage arising from:

  • —Defects or failures in Starlink products or services,
  • —Internet service interruptions or performance issues,
  • —Misuse, tampering, or unauthorised relocation of installed equipment,
  • —Customer-supplied or third-party materials used during installation.

12. Installation Work & Authorisation

By proceeding with a booking, you authorise Alltec Ltd and its assigned installers to perform the physical work required to complete your Starlink installation. This work may include, where reasonably necessary:

  • —Drilling holes and mounting brackets, dishes, or equipment to walls, ceilings, eaves, or roofs.
  • —Securing and clipping cables to walls, ceilings, eaves, or other suitable surfaces.
  • —Installing or connecting network, data, telephone, or other required wall sockets.

Acknowledgement of Inherent Work:

  • —You acknowledge that drilling, mounting, cable clipping, and associated installation work will result in minor holes, fixings, or penetrations to walls, ceilings, roofs, or other surfaces. These are an inherent and expected part of the installation and are not considered damage.
  • —You confirm that you have advised Alltec and the assigned installer of any known concealed pipes, electrical wiring, structural concerns, or other hazards within or around the proposed mounting and cable-routing areas. Alltec and its installers are not liable for damage to concealed services that were not disclosed before work commenced.
  • —You grant Alltec and its installers permission to access all areas of the property reasonably required to complete the agreed installation.

Alltec and its installers will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill. Any actual damage caused during the installation is addressed under the Installer Damage & Public Liability section above.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

14. Acceptance

By submitting an installation booking with Alltec Ltd, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
